Cashmere

Cashmere is fine in texture, strong, light, and soft. Garments made from it provide excellent insulation, warm in the winter and cool in the spring. One of the most sought after luxury fibers in the world a cashmere garment will look fabulous because of the ability to drape in addition to providing warmth and deeply comforting softness.

Cashmere is the dense protective undercoat of the Cashmere (Kashmir) goat. The very best fiber is from the neck and belly region of goats who roam the high plateaus of Asia which include China, Mongolia and Tibet, India and China where such a thick undercoat is necessary to protect the animals from the harshest climates. It will take one goat several years to product enough fiber for an adult sweater.

Care:

Your cashmere garment should be hand washed in lukewarm to cold water with a gentle wool wash such as “Soak”. Gently squeeze out excess moisture, roll in a towel to release more moisture and lay flat to dry away from direct heat and sun.
